This depends on how you define a “seafood diet.” Obviously, a diet comprised of only one type of food -no matter what the food- is unhealthy. Remember the “everything in moderation rule.” However, many people do believe that a diet including a lot of fish is healthy as it is a low fat source of protien containing lots of vitamins. However, the risk of mercury poisoning is growing. Fish absorb mercury from eating smaller fish and plants which contain mercury, and that mercury is passed onto humans when they consume fish. Mercury poisoning has been linked to cardiovasuclar disease and other health problems.
