I have had people tell me that it denatures in the soil, thus rendering it harmless, but I’m not sure that that is entirely true. Roundup is extremely lethal to amphibians and non-target species. It can have adverse health affects in humans, including reproductive issues. The main chemical in the product can have a long half-life, meaning that it will take a while for it to break down (In some cases, the half life was 141 days) thus the chemical will still be present in the soil, capable of harming organisms.
