Renault introduced its environmental aims with its 2007 Eco2 line of cars, which are composed of 5% recycled plastic and 95% reusable material. The company won the Environment Award at the prestigous 2008 Fleet World Honors for its range of low-emission cars. Renault (partnered with Nissan) is stepping up its commitment for its current and future eco2 models with an aim for zero emissions standards, which it describes as “zero-noise, zero-pollutant emissions and zero-greenhouse gases.” Renault is also decreasing energy usage of production. The company released a zero emission electric car concept vehicle in 2008.
