    Finding the figures for each specific plastic is difficult, but recycling one ton of plastic saves 685 gallons of oil per year.  Of that ton, 75% of it is LPDE and HDPF.  If LPDE plastics (which are more difficult to recycle than HDPF) comprise 30% of that 75%, LPDE recycling alone would result in a savings of 205.5 gallons of oil.
