Unfortunately, no. Toyota (and all other car companies) have histories of recalling products. The first Toyota recall was in 1986, when the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recalled Toyota vehicles over “speed control” issues. In April 2003, another “speed control issue” sparked a recall. Multiple other recalls have occurred since then, primarily because of acceleration issues.
This is the first recall or this magnitude for Toyota. There are lots of small recalls for different random parts of different car manufactures but there have not been that many huge ones like this Toyota recall. This recall include 3.8 million Toyota vehicles made over the last 5 years because of a problem with the driver floor mat sliding up and hitting the accelerator. This is by far the largest recall for Toyota ever.
