Yes, because the farmers who produced it did not use chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Even though produce is supposed to be washed rigorously, it is very difficult to get absolutely all of it off and it can build up in your system over time.
While organic produce is not considered more healthy than the alternative. It does not have fewer calories or more nutrients. Wash it off, and it won’t matter what kind of chemicals were sprayed on it. Organic food is truly more healthy for the environment. It doesn’t allow genetic altering of the crop which has the potential to devastate the surrounding ecosystem. It also doesn’t allow over-planting which can cause damage to the health of the soil and has, in the past, created droughts and dust bowls.
