Is noise pollution a problem in rural areas?

For the most part no. The rural description implies a somewhat of a desolate empty feel. People who live in rural areas tend to have larger property or at least live farther away from each other. There isn’t he hustle and bustle of the city with cars constantly driving around and honking their horns or construction going on all year long. Besides the occasional sounds of nature, rural areas tend to stay quiet.
