Is nuclear power really a sustainable power source?

in its present form definitely not. Nuclear power does not produce carbon emission and thus is neutral where it comes to global warming, but it is not sustainable or renewable. Using current technology nuclear power plants produce radioactive waste that will last hundreds of thousands of years, is destructive to the environment and to people’s health, and we have no way of disposing of. Furthermore, nuclear power uses uranium which must be mined out of the ground much like coal with all the environmental and social damage that that can cause as well.
