Is popcorn bad for the environment?

Not by itself, no.  However the amount of packaging that goes into some brands of popcorn can definitely add up, especially the ones that overuse cellophane wrapping.  Popcorn can also be seen as bad for the environment as a product representative for how much we overgrow corn in the US.  Farmer subsidies, government protection, and gm lobbies have led to a state of agricultural perversion when it comes to the American corn industry. I would recommend checking out the film “King Corn”, there is a link below if you’re interested.
