The pollution in Beijing is bad, but has not reached life threatening levels yet. The pollution in Hong Kong however, has gotten that high. According to a report citing figures from the government, Hong Kong’s roadside air pollution reached life-threatening levels one in every eight days last year. Air quality in Hong Kong continues to deteriorate due to emissions from the southern Chinese factory belt over Hong Kong’s northern border and local emissions from power generators and transport.
