Waste paper including tissues, kitchen towels, newspaper, printer paper, corrugated paper/card and cardboard (not that much) can all be composted. Researchers have discovered that by adding paper to your compost pile helps fight off plant diseases.
Paper can be added to compost, and often helps balance a compost pile with ‘slow to rot’ materials that take longer to decompose. Newspaper decomposes fastest. Glossy paper and cardboard take much longer, but it is good to have a mixture of different materials and rotting times.
