Yes, it appears so. However, scientists are not certain about the reasons for this shrinkage nor are they sure that it will have overall positive effects for the environment. Some scientists speculate that the shrinkage of the hole in the ozone over Antarctica may actually accelerate global warming in the southern hemisphere, especially in Antarctica.
