According to their website, it is safe for the environment because it breaks down into natural minerals and components, and releases no toxic fumes.
The active ingredients in Oxiclean are Sodium Percarbonate and Sodium Carbonate, which are baking soda and soda ash. These ingredients aren’t harmful to the environment, also the ingredients list doesn’t include any phosphates or bleach. However, according to Internet reviews, oxiclean carries a fragrance that does not smell like simple baking soda and soda ash. My assumption is that there are dyes and fragrances used in the cleaner, which could have negative environmental impacts.
