No it is not. The size the suns diameter is 964,938 miles while the moon’s diameter is 2,140 miles.
An interesting question, but ultimately no, they most definitely are not. The above answer is correct, in that sun far exceeds the moon, and even our own planet, with the Earth’s diameter being 12,742 km (7,926 miles). The perception that they are the same size comes from our view from the Earth, in which they seemingly appear to be the same size. The funny thing is that the sun is many millions of miles further away than the moon, and yet to the naked eye appears to be the around the same size in the sky.
