    Yes, the illegal animal trade requires a great deal of organization by various criminals. Criminals must organize everything from capturing the animal and the transportation to the sale.

    Yes, organized crime all over the world traffic animals at extremely high prices. The list of animals is far too long to list here, but the rarer the animal, the higher the fetched prices. Only 1 in 10 animals survive the journey of being smuggled illegally, suggesting what a lucrative process it must be to have such losses. About 100 rangers are killed every year against high tech weapons from poachers avoiding law enforcement. Organized criminals are just that, the organizers. Individuals from poor communities may be doing the poaching, but delivery, sales, and smuggling is part of a complex plan.
