Is Organic cotton a lot more expensive than regular cotton?

Organic cotton products range from 10 to 45% more expensive than those made from conventional cotton.  The higher price is due to fair wages, clean water, and healthy farmers, among other factors.

Yes, organic cotton is more expensive. You might think that organic should be less expensive to grow because it doesnt use expensive GMO seeds, expensive petroleum-based fertilizers, or expensive toxic herbicides and pesticides like conventionally grown crops and cottons, but it still must fight off weeds and bugs which becomes quite costly. Organic cotton is also more expensive to harvest because it does not use chemical harvest aids therefore requiring more man labor. It is also more expensive to manufacture therefore contributing to its high prices for consumers.
