Yes, the treatment of gangrene involves surgery to amputate the dead or dying skin usually. The actualy treatment depends on the type of gangrene (wet being the most crucial for speedy treatment), but as long as you avoid infection from the amputation, there is a good chance that you will get rid of it for at least a time. Other treatments include hyperbaric oxygen treatment which has also been shown to work on wet gangrene.
