Once a whale is beached what is the chance of getting it safely back to sea?

Interesting question, Annikahoffman.  It is possible to rescue smaller whales, though I think the chances of the whale getting safely back to sea decrease dramatically with their size.  The bigger the whale, the more weight crushing down on its own body and the more difficult the rescue.  There was actually a rescue of some pilot whales that proceeded to beach themselves after they were rescued, so it seems like their chances are not that good.

    Hope this helps!
