President Obama is against drilling in the Alaskan National Wildlife Reserve, so in a way that stand is/will be making it harder to drill oil in America. If we have not already, we will soon be reaching peak oil, and will be running out of oil owned my America. However, his stance on preserving wildlife is a good one and he continues to support alternative energy strategies.
After the surge in gas prices after the arab spring Obama pushed for domestic oil drilling, determing the new areas on the east coast for oil drilling and lifting bans on drilling along alaska and texas after the BP oil spill. This was done to cushion the spike in gas prices at the pump.
