Is natural selection important for wildlife species?

Yes, because it is the difference between the survival and extinction of a species.

Natural selection makes the individuals in a species with the least useful/desirable traits die out and leave few if any offspring, while the individuals which are better suited for their environment continue to reproduce.

This helps species become stronger, making their survival more likely.
