My ficus benjamina (weeping fig) has grown several aerial roots from ground level almost to the top(about 5 feet tall). Why is the happening and is the tree in harms way? It is in a greenhouse.

    It seems that the aerial roots are not harmful to your tree, but rather, are an invasive trait intending on taking over more space. Take a look at these sites for a bit more clarity:
