Moisture in the air comes from evaporation and transpiration. Evaporation happens whenever any water turns to a gaseous state and rises in the atmosphere, a greater amount of water rises over the ocean or larger bodies of water. Transpiration is when water leaves plants and evaporates through the leaves into the air. This all builds up and generates clouds when the water condenses and is a vital part of the water cycle.
