According to the renewable energy map from the link below, the current majority of Australia’s renewable energy is solar. However, wind and water are both prevalent.
Australia’s Department of Climate Change has a Renewable Energy Target plan for the future of energy in Australia. They are planing on increasing the percentage of energy from renewable resources to 20% of the total energy consumed by 2020. They specify that solar, wind, water, and geothermal energy will be involved as well as both large scale projects and incentives for small personal projects. It desn’t specify the percentages of the different kinds of energy, but since Australia has so much sun, solar will be big.
