Is more energy used to produce a car than during a car’s life?

No, a car uses more energy over its lifetime than it took to initially make that car. The problem, however, lies in the fact that most people don’t drive a car until it completely dies. Instead, they sell their cars and buy new ones. It is more wasteful to buy a new car, even a hybrid, when you have a car in working condition already.
