Is the Midwestern United States getting drier?

    No, according to the US National Assessment of Climate Change, the Midwest has gotten wetter over the 20th century, particularly in the Northern Midwest.  According to the assessment, the Midwest has experienced substantial increases in precipitation, as much as 10 to 20% increase in some areas.
