Methane is in fact more dangerous than CO2 when it comes to greenhouse gases. Based on other interactions with greenhouse gases, methane is proving to be destructive in the environment.
Although CO2 may be more abundant in our atmosphere, Methane is actually worse for the Earth. Methane is far more effective at trapping heat from solar radiation and spends longer time in the atmosphere. This could make methane 25 times as bad for the Earth as CO2.
