From my understanding of the relationship of the carbon life cycle and climate change, you have the question backwards. Changes in the carbon life cycle are supposedly causing climate change. Humans have changed the placement and distribution of carbon in the environment, removing land based carbon in the form of forestry, and adding to the carbon cycle in the form of carbon dioxide released from burning fossil fuels. Although we are not completely certain if the human addition to CO2 in the atmosphere is causing or even accelerating climate change, there is evidence that shows that changes in CO2 levels over Earth’s history has been related to Earth’s climate change. So, in fact it is the changes in the carbon cycle that are supposedly causing climate change.
