Whether or not medical marijuana is harmful to the environment depends on how it is grown. If it is grown indoors than this can be viewed as harmful simply because of the amount of fuel that is needed to keep up maintenance. A statistic was given that stated that the indoor production of marijuana is the equivalent of half of America’s household computer use (LA Weekly, 2011)! Outdoor marijuana plantations tend to use pesticides, and those are toxic to both humans and the environment. Marijuana can be grown with environmental responsibility and eco-friendly production methods have been highly recommended.
