Macrovascular is much more dangerous. “Macro” means large, and “vascular” refers to the blood vessels in the body. Macrovascular disease damages the large blood vessels in the body, which include the aorta (major part of your heart) and blood vessels going to the brain. Microvascular disease deals with the smaller blood vessels, like those in your fingers. If you have microvascular disease you might lose a finger, but if you have macrovascular disease, you can die pretty quickly.
