Is local food more expensive than non local food?

It’s hard to generalize about this, because prices are determined by so many factors (what avenue you’re buying through, whether wholesale or retail, et cetera)—but generally not. The farther your food has to travel before you consume it, the more the end price will have to be hiked up to cover the cost of transportation and keeping it fresh.
