It depends on which leader you are referring to. You can refer to the Montana Environmental Information Center for detailed information about lobbyists in Montana. If you’re referring to Brian Schweitzer, the governor, I believe that he isn’t an environmentalist. He wrote a letter to city officials trying to convince them that if they allowed mines to open, they would recieve funds to help improve local infrastructure. However, I believe that the governor was still doing what he believed was best for his state. He wants to improve everyone’s way of living, and opening up a mine would create jobs for people who work with the mine and people who work with developing infrastructure.
