Is a lack of rainfall affecting harvesting in the Midwest?

The term harvesting implies that the product has reached maturity and is ready for collection, packaging, etc. Lack of rainfall would affect the next crop of plants. Since plants need water to grow and flourish, I can only imagine that lack of rainfall would affect cash crops, gardens, etc in the Midwest.
