Yes. Although various municipalities have undertaken projects to help stop the spread of kudzu, the vine is still proving pernicious to a number of ecosystems. Originally imported from Korea to help stop the erosion of sand dunes, kudzu in fact accelerated the destruction of the dunes by choking out dune-grass and driving away nestlings.
