Kleenex tissues are actually worse for the environment than toilet paper. According to Kleenex’s website, an additive is added to Kleenex to make them stronger and less prone to falling apart after usage (such as wiping your nose or sneezing). Even though Kleenex tissues are made of biodegradable materials, this additive makes Kleenex tissues last longer, thus they take longer to be engrossed by the surrounding environment. Toilet paper typically doesn’t have this additive so it is much more prone to biodegrading into its surrounding environment.
