    Nope. Wild Cherry Trees, according to the Wiki, are actually native to Iran.  Other areas where Wild Cherry Trees can be found include: Europe, northwest Africa, Western Africa, Morocco, and Tunisia.

    thefreedictionary.com defines a cherry tree as: “any of numerous trees and shrubs producing a small fleshy round fruit with a single hard stone; many also produce a valuable hardwood”

    Cherry Blossoms are “indigenous to many East Asian states including Japan, Korea, China.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherry_blossom)
