The potentially dangerous chemicals under discussion are bisphenol A and phthalates, which can interfere with human hormones and are already banned from baby bottles and toys. They are still used in some sex toys to make plastic more flexible. Greenpeace led tests on the toys and found the amount of chemicals to be unsafe, and are encouraging people to make more eco-friendly purchasing decisions. Most toys that have these chemicals are labeled and should be avoided. You can also ask the owner of any given store to see if they buy only phthalate-free toys.
