In some regards, yes. Some European companies have set emission reduction goals far more ambitious than the United States. Alternative forms of energy, such as nuclear power and wind energy, seem to be more prevalent.
I think Europe has been ahead of America for a long time. Check out the to 10 greenest country list is always filled with European countries. They have methods that would seem space-age to people in America. Even nations that are not listed, like England and Germany, they just naturally drive smaller cars, and waste less.
In America we have not broken from the “Frontier Life” that out forefathers had. We still want everything bigger, faster, louder, more extreme (which obviously leads to more waste). We are honestly just a bunch of kids in America.
