Is it true that there is enough food produced in some parts of the world to feed every person worldwide?

Although exact figures are difficult to determine, it is estimated by some that the amount of grain produced in the world is an adequate amount to produce enough bread to feed the entire world’s population. Much of this grain, however, goes to feeding livestock to produce meat and is thus rendered uncountable.

There are dozens of other reasons the world’s food supply (which has tripled in the past century) is not being evenly circulated. Among these reasons are political unrest, poverty and trade pressures.
