Yes, most earthquakes and volcanoes usually occur at the edges of plates due to movement in those plates. This movement is called plate tectonics. The ocean covers 2/3 of the Earth’s surface and most of these plate edges are in the ocean. See the link below for a cool drawing of the location of all these plates.
Yes. The majority of the earth’s volcanoes happen along the ocean floor. Most of these occur around the Ring of Fire, the encompasses the Pacific Ocean. Earthquakes that occur in the ocean cause tsunamis and tidal waves.
