    It depends on the measurement you are using. Generally, mountains are measured from Sea Level to top, using this measurement Mt. Everest is the tallest in the world. If you are measuring from base to top, Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the world. If you measure from the earth’s core, Ecuador’s Chimborazo is the tallest peak.

    So depending on your measuring, Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the world.
