Is it true that coyotes will hide while a single pack member befriends a dog in order to bring it back to the pack to be killed?

If you answer that this is true, can you please provide some evidence?

There is a technique used by coyotes that is similar to this situation. Coyotes hunt in packs. They will sometimes use one coyotes to catch the attention of the prey and then the rest of the pack will be secretly encircling the prey. Once they have the prey surrounded they will all move in on it. Coyotes are quite similar to dogs so its not out of the realm of reason that they would actually befriend a dog, also.
