Is it true that celery is a great diet food because it takes more energy for your body to break it down?

Most research does indicate that breaking down celery requires the body to expend more calories than it gains from the vegetable itself. But be careful not to just eat celery for a long time, or else your body will slow down its metabolic rate and when you do start eating foods with positive calorie-counts again, your body won’t burn those calories as quickly.

Yes, celery can be considered to have negative calories. It takes a more energy for your body to digest celery.
