According to the link posted below, it is not safe to reuse food packaging material made out of styrofoam or other porous materials due to the air spaces in them that can harbor food particles and microorganisms.
I don’t believe that it is safe to re-use styrofoam. It can harbor bacteria and reheated styrofoam chemicals can seep into food and be ingested which is not good either. Styrofoam is not biodegradable and is not an ecofriendly choice for food storage, serving, or packaging.
