Is it safe for the environment to bathe in the river if I use biodegradable soap?

No. The use of any soap in natural water systems naturally introduces  foreign materials into rivers & lakes, even if it is biodegradable and all-natural. Leaving trace amounts of olive and aloe vera oils in freshwater ecosystems can confuse feeding patterns of microrganisms that both keep the water clean and provide a valuable link in the food chain of river ecosystems.
