Yes. The FDA and NOAA have taken over 10,000 samples of seafood from the Gulf and have determined that contamination levels are now 100-1000 times lower than the level of concern. Most people are still exercising caution any way by limiting the amount of seafood they eat, like people do with tuna and other high mercury content fish. However, you’d have to eat an unrealistic amount of Gulf seafood to get sick, so it’s safe.
