Although there is a large amount of environmental skepticism, there is something called ‘clean coal’. According to many, there wasn’t the technology for efficient clean coal burning, however many technological advances have reversed that issue.

There is a way to use a ‘better’ type of coal to burnt that isn’t has harmful to the environment as others. There are also a way to use ‘coal washing’, that removes the harmful chemicals from the coal before it’s burned. Then there is of course scrubbers that capture the harmful chemicals before they are emitted into the air. Furthermore there are different types of burners that burn the coal for production without emitting harmful chemicals. In addition there is also gasification which doesn’t even burn the coal and uses pressure to rip apart the molecules, make a gas, and burn the gas with less gas emission than traditional coal burning.
