Believe it or not it is possible and it is already being done. Calmac a company in New Jersey has successfully stored wind energy from turbines in “IceBank” energy storage tanks. This energy is then used the following day to help cool the facility and cut down power consumption during peak hours. This new technique is said to cut cooling costs by 20-40%.
