Good question, marius. It is a good idea to clean out empty containers, but if there is some left inside, it will not mess up the recycling process. When glass is recycled, it is heated up really hot in order to melt it down, which will burn away any organic material remaining inside. Paper is a different story, however, and you should not recycle cardboard or paper that has been soiled by grease or oil, as this can mess up the recycling process.
Hope this helps!
