Water that comes out of a garden hose is the same water that comes out of you faucets, so the water itself is fine to drink. Your hose, however, could be an issue. Make sure that your hose is not made of any materials that could be potentially hazardous, that you could possibly ingest. Otherwise, water from a hose is perfectly safe, as long as your tap water is too.
It honestly depends on many factors:
Where in the world are you?
What state are you in?
What kind of filtration does your city/town offer?
How old or clean is your hose.
I would so no purely due to the fact that the inside of a hose is a perfect breeding ground for all sorts of bacteria. Similarly, many bugs like to crawl up hoses (especially spiders) because they provide a protective and cool place to live.
In most locations, the answer is no, it is not okay to drink the water out of a garden hose. Most people do it on the level of convenience, but generally, that water is not filtered. Most people do not even like to drink the water that comes out of their kitchen sink, and the hose is no different. There is no purification system involved. Granted, it is drinkable, most likely nothing of a sickness will come over you, if you are in a civilized location, but for most people, a more purified water is preferred.
