Is it less likely the climate bill will be passed if it goes into 2010?

Though health care has been the dominant issue in the last few months in US politics, it’s clear that the environment is of high concern as well. It doesn’t necessarily matter how much time passes between a bill’s creation and passing, but it is important to gather support in the meantime. Politicians have now realized that our environmental issues will only get more severe as time goes on, and so I think significant climate legislation will be more likely to pass next year, even if it isn’t passed this year. It will be important to get more Republican support, perhaps by compromising.
